Google Takeout’s Transfer service will copy your FCS Gmail and Drive contents to a personal Google Account.
Please watch this instructional video or follow these step-by-step instructions:
- If you don’t already have one, create a personal Google account to transfer the files to
- Sign out that account
- Sign into your FCS Gmail account and go to takeout.google.com/transfer
- Enter the email address of the destination Google account (your personal Gmail – where the files will end up)
- Select Send code
- Check your personal Gmail for the confirmation email, and in that email select Get confirmation code. A new tab will open with the code.
- Return to takeout.google.com/transfer, enter the code, and click Verify
- Select the content you’d like to transfer, and then click Start transfer
Details about the transfer process
- Your personal account automatically becomes the owner of the transferred files. A copy of these files will remain at FCS for 1 year after account deactivation.
- Files owned by other users will not be transferred.
- The copy process usually happens within a few hours, but it can take up to a week to complete.
- Copied files might appear in batches in your personal Google Account during the copy process.
- When your files are finished copying, you’ll get an email at your personal Gmail address. There will be a folder in your personal Google Drive containing your FCS Drive files.
